<br>Big Breakfast presenter Paul Tonkinson has been sacked from the show after just two months, Channel 4 announced today. <P>Tonkinson, who joined the Big Breakfast in February, was told of the decision after yesterday's programme and was asked not to turn up for work today. <P>This morning's show was presented by the regular team including Amanda Byram, Donna Air and stand-in Mike McLean. <P>Makers of the show are now on the look-out for a new presenter to front the early morning programme, which has seen ratings plummet since Johnny Vaughan and Denise Van Outen left in January. <P>Producers have recently approached a number of potential hosts, including Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, in an effort to halt the ratings decline. <P>A number of guest presenters, yet to be confirmed, are being lined up for the next few weeks.<P>A statement from Planet 24, which makes the Big Breakfast for Channel 4, said: "Paul Tonkinson has been released from his contract as co-presenter of the Big Breakfast. <P>"The Big Breakfast will continue with its team of regular presenters, who will be joined by a number of guest presenters over the coming weeks."<P>Tonkinson also presents the Channel 4 quiz show, Dicing with Debt. <br>

The Big Breakfast has now taken the strange route of turning loyal fans into enemies - with some saying the show is on its last legs Channel 4 made the decision this week to shut the official bb forum. Many feel that they just couldn't take the criticism that the fans were giving over the show's new format.

What did Frank Skinner say about the Big Breakfast offer yesterday cos as soon as he said it there was silince as if they werent allowed to talk about it.

Frank said that it was the only big breakfast chris had EVER turned down. Yes there was a noticable silence!

I dont think hell take the job as he wouldnt really be able to drink at night as hed have to be up early and also it would perhaps interfere with his radio show.

Its probably for the same reason he didn't take the radio 1 breakfast show - he couldnt be arsed to get up in the morning.  However, considering he really wanted to break into TV, you'd of thought he would of made the effort.
