If it's not letting you then you need to check that your sound card is able to play more then 1 sound at a time.

Whats happening?

Im not an expert in this thing but i think you need to buy a new sound card that can handle more than one audio sound at a time. You can get them in computer shops.

I may be wrong, but I think the Operating System you have can have an affect.

...I had a friend who had exactly the same problem (couldn't play sound over music) & he had Windows 98. - As soon as he updated to XP, it worked fine (and I don't think he had to change his sound card settings).

I have ME and I'm able to play sounds/music simultaneously.

This may not have been of any help actually! :? Sorry!!!!!!

Cheers,
James.

I use winamp to play sounds and can play numerous mp3's at a time. I don't know whether getting a different player will help?
