did anyone see this tonight with matthew kelly asking about jokes frank made on Unplanned when he was under suspicion of abusing children. It was uncomfortable telly and i dont really think frank gave a decent reason as to why he felt he could joke about it.

not really what you would expect on that show but it really made you think about all that innocent till proven guilty stuff that seems to be ignored nowadays.

I would like to see that actually, is it repeated do you know?

It did look at times throughout that interview as if Matthew Kelly really wanted to pummel Frank, and that haircut of his only enhanced that.

Why? If you're not a member it would just say 'Not Permitted' or something to that effect.

Actually it says "The topic or post you requested does not exist" but the effect is the same.

It pissed me off that people were making jokes about an innocent man.

Substitute "Matthew Kelly" with "Paul Bridge" and see how you like it.

i would laugh, i honestly would. the actual name was irrelevant, i was laughing at the humour in the jokes (as were the other people with a sense of humour) its just that his name was an appropriate name to go there. its not like i actually meant to hurt matthew kelly's feelings. i wouldnt have gone up to him in the street and said those jokes but i was quietly confident, not 100% sure but about 99.9999999% sure that he wouldnt see them on a chris moyles website so i posted. im soooooo incredibly sorry mr kelly if you read those jokes and took offence.

comedy is comedy and not drama, thats why you watch OFAH and laugh instead of taking pitty on a poor unemployed man who lives in a tiny flat in poverty with his brother and grandad. you need to be able to differ between the two. i know the situation was real but the actual jokes werent, so you can laugh at them because its all made up.

you can use the same reasons to justify racist jokes an homophobic jokes. its a blurry line.....

and i'd still agree that they are only offensive if you decide to take offence at jokes.

i used to be friends with an indian guy from school who would actually tell us racist jokes about indians!

like i said, if you remember they are jokes, why get offended

It's worse than racist jokes, because nobody's guilt is in question. Them jokes assumed Matthew was guilty, which was totally unfair.

Not really, I don't believe. If you told a Matthew Kelly joke now most people would think you're a sicko.

i think it was out of order then and now. i think generalisations are easier to cope with as you dont have to relate it to someone. its the way that it makes it acceptable that i think is wrong it creeps into language....

Gaspode's post makes sense, however I do agree with Bridgie for the most part because there always will be things that are wrong with the world and jokes are one way (and in my most humblest of opinions one of the best ways) of getting through a difficult situation. Obivously, as with everything there will be exceptions (I don't suppose the coppers who interviewed him told jokes about it in the cop shop, although with coppers you never know.)

Who found jokes about WTC offensive? A different situation, but still a difficult subject - personally I think it helps people through, although in cases like that you do have to be careful who you tell them to and how long youleave it before you tell them.

Does the fact that Matthew Kelly was innocent still mean that paedophilia doesn't happen. Whether Matthew Kelly is a paedophile or not still doesn't mean that paedophile jokes are funny. I'm neither here nor thier with this one, but paedophilia isn't very funny. The Brass eye peadogeddon episode was funny to me because Chris Morris took the mickey out of the way the media dealt with paedophilia and is it happens it was spot on (take Matthew Kelly for example). But i couldn't bring myself to laugh at these jokes, imagine if you were a victim.

Good to know, thanks!
