Found in a super-seekrit BBC Press Office PDF file that Google just happened to index:

Monday 7th June
Mark Radcliffe
10.30pm-12.00midnight BBC RADIO 2

Mark Radcliffe makes his full-time Radio 2 debut presenting a new, weekly show live from Manchester. Airing four nights a week, it kicks off tonight with an exclusive session with Badly Drawn Boy, followed by a live session with Supergrass tomorrow.

Mark, who has previously presented a number of series and documentaries for Radio 2 says: "It's going to be a late-night radio revolution: we're going to play records and talk in between and I don't think anyone has ever tried that before."

The programme includes a mix of live sessions with celebrity guests, listener contributions and regular updates on the worlds of poetry, fashion, journalism and rock "n" roll from a team of experts.

Of his contributors, Mark says: "We've got John Cooper Clarke, the original punk poet from Manchester; Noddy Holder, from Slade; Wayne Hemingway, the designer from Red Or Dead; Dave Spikey from
Phoenix Nights; and Jim White, the sports writer for the Telegraph, who's going to report from Euro 2004. So I won't be lonely."

Presenter/Mark Radcliffe, Producer/Ian Callaghan

Should be quality entertainment; there's also an interview with him on page seven of this PDF file. - jc

Yep - been counting down the weeks to this for several weeks now!

And I completely forgot about Allinsons last weeknight show untill 5 to 12 on Thursday!

Also heard a bit of Riley today on 6 Music sounding quite good!

Yes he is very funny.

its more serious than what their show on radio 1 was - but thats probably cause he doesnt have Radcliffe to speak to - but still quite funny!

off to a good start. 20 seconds in and Radcliffe is talked about his new jingles, and the first song was New Order, True Faith.

yeah i noticed that last night and though how very handy that would be..

odd - every other radio 2 show gets only one day on the listen again, including Wake Up With Wogan.. where as Radcliffe gets the whole week of shows on it.

Unfortunately i couldn't stand Mark and Lard on R1. I found them really annoying being on till 4pm when Moylsie came on. Their jokes were terrible, mind you, Colin & Edith aren't much better... Get someone good on R1!

Perhaps the BBC can ask that Chris Moyles we've heard all about to come and do a few shows on Radio 1...

hmmmm enough of the sarcasm i think..... Chris is ace - we all know that but i think if he was to takeover the running of the whole daytime schedule he might get a little bored, we probably would too......
