The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

I like this one:

Following on from the successful launch of the Euro in the majority of EU
states the European Commission has just
announced an agreement whereby English will become the official language
of the EU, in preference to the other
option of German. As part of the negotiations Her Majesty's Government
conceded that English spelling had some
room for improvement and has accepted a 5 year phased plan which will
introduce what will be know as "Euro-
English". In the first year "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly this
will make sivil servants jump with joy. The hard
"c" will also be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up konfusion
and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year, when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with the "f".
This will make words like "fotograf" 20% shorter. In the third year
publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be
expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are
possible.Governments will enkourage the removal of
double letters, which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horible mes of the silent
"e"s in the language is disgrasful and they should go away. By the fourth
yar peopl wil be reseptiv to further steps
such as replasing "th" with "z" and "w" with "v". During the fifz year ze
unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords
containing "ou" and similar changes vud of kors be aplid to ozer
kombinations of leters. After zis fifz yar, ve vil hav a
reli sensibl riten styl. Zer vil be no mor trubls or difikultis and
evrivun vil find it ezi to undrstand ech ozer. ZE DREM
VIL FINALI HAV KUM TRU AND ZEN WE VIL TAK OVA ZE VORLD.

NEW BECKHAM EMAIL LEGAL THREAT

By Ruki Sayid

IF you were one of the millions who received and sent on THAT David Beckham email, watch out - you could be sued.

Lawyers yesterday stamped on the widely-held belief that the internet and electronic mail were outside libel law.

Mark Stephens, of London law firm Finers Stephens Innocent, said: "People seem to think emails and the net don't count when it comes to libel - but they do count.

"And in this particular case, the repercussions could be huge. If David Beckham comes across the email in question, he could quite easily sue the sender because they are repeating the allegations to a third party.

"And if the email was forwarded on an employer's computer, then they too become vicariously liable for the acts of employees.

"There is no defence for a repetition of a lie. While emails of this nature are very difficult to track down, for someone with Beckham's resources, it's not impossible."

Mr Stephens said an increasing number of libel cases were being fought over net lies.

He added: "I would not be surprised if behind the scenes, the Beckham camp is trying to establish the identity of the originator of this vile email."

Beckham, 27, says there is "absolutely no truth" in the rumours. He will sue anyone found repeating the allegation.

The showbiz-gossip website Popbitch first printed the falsehood. Posted on the internet every Thursday, it said this week that "everyone's talking about the Beckhams".

It said the messageboard story had prompted "surprisingly heavy-handed legal action from the Beckham camp". The allegation was removed as soon as a complaint was made.
