The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Wasn't sure whether to put this in the trash can or not, but I think we can make a discussion about it (and it will be moved if deemed unfit for in here anyway.) I found it hilarious actually.

A senior manager at J. Sainsbury has been forced to apologise after labelling the customers "pikeys" Press Association reports.

Lisa Collins, who is head of the store chain's health and beauty section, used the word - a derogatory term for gypsies - during a conference.

The chain said yesterday it "could not condone" the incident.

Ms Collins had spoken about the new in-store health and beauty departments in Solihull and Leamington Spa.

Now the chain was expanding the idea to other stores, she said "Or, as we like to call them, our pikey customers."

The stores are in Hereford, Cobham and Croydon where yesterday, despite an apology from Ms Collins, there was some anger.

George Gunn, a Tory councillor from Cobham on Elmbridge Borough Council said: "She doesn't know what she is talking about. This is one of the wealthiest areas around."

Sainsbury claimed Ms Collins had not known what the word meant.

Now the discussion (which I was gonna start a while back but didn't get around to it) - putting your foot in it: your worst and most embarassing moments. I've had a few, I'm notorious for it, I was telling Sam the other day.

I didn't think it was a northern phrase, but even so, you must not have seen Snatch then.

Brilliant :D

I was telling a mate in the pub to stop having a fit (he was laughing an awful lot) my other mate, Lisa said "hes not having a fit" I said "you should have seen him a minute ago, he was shaking quite violently. I then learnt how Lisa is prone to the occasional eppy...

Then there was the time (to cut a long story short) I said to my mate that a bloke called Bill at work was the opposite of Mini-me - Huge me. Bill was getting a coffee behind me at the time. 8O

I was in the pub standing with my back to the bar, and my mate started talking about the VERY fit barmaid I fancied. I stood there and said "There's no way on Earth I could get (name ommited) as she's at the top of the premier league, and in comparison I'm bottom of the conference, and she's stood right behind me isn't she?".

She was.

I was with my mate Paul and his girlfriend Kate in Weatherspoons one evening and Paul was telling Kate how she was the most attractive girlfriend he'd ever had. Kate asked me to back him up. I told her that I couldn't really remember any of Pauls previous girlfriends, so Paul started reeling them off to me. When he got as far as 'Hayley Marlow' I said that she was very attractive, and maybe more so than Kate. Needless to say, I've not heard the end of it.

One day I fell down grumply hill on my bike and as I rolled down my body flew everywhere and as I hit the bottom I found 1 foot in my ear and the other landed in my mouth so does that count?

Rather stereotyping Bob. I've known a couple of traveller's and they are lovely, and don't deserve the reputation they get.
