I've just been looking at some train* fares with a view to visiting some friends. Since they live nearer to each other than to me, I thought I'd explore the possiblilty of visiting one then the other. Ones in Norwich and ones in Huntingdon. After much playing with thetrainline.com I came up with these priceings..

<- > Return
-> Single

G <- > N + G < - > H = £45.30
G < - > N + N < - > H = £37.70
G < - > H + H < - > N = £31.60
G - > N + N - > H + H - > G = £51.80

So its actually cheaper for me to visit them completely seperately than get singles. And the difference between the cheapest and most expensive method is a whooping £21.20!!! How ruddy daft.

*And before you say anything - yes i do drive... dont ask!

I have the same problem when Im going to London Ad. The only thing I can suggest though it is a bit late now probably is if you go on the site two weeks before you go you should be able to pick up value tickets which are around £12 each or do what Im doing on saturday and get the coach lol
