I would imagine Moyles will have a smarmy smug grin on his face when he learns of this.
Chris Evans has been hit by another hammer blow following the axing of his Channel 4 show Boys and Girls, with news that a second programme he produces, Channel Five's Live With... Christian O'Connell, has also been canned.
Although officially Five is claiming no decision has yet been taken on whether to recommission Live Wth..., which finished its second series last Friday, insiders privately admit the show will not be returning.
Live With... has had a short and troubled life. The original version launched last autumn and was hosted by BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles.
The show was broadcast live each weekday evening from the upstairs room of a bar in Kings Cross in London, featuring a mix of chat, tabloid gossip and pub games that would have been familiar to fans of Evans' old Channel 4 show, TFI.
But despite a significant marketing push by Five, the 7pm show averaged only around 400,000 viewers in its pre-Christmas run.
Evans, who produced Live With... through his production company UMTV, replaced Moyles with Xfm breakfast show host O'Connell for the second series of the show, which began in late February.
But O'Connell's show fared even worse in the ratings, bumping along at around 200,000 viewers.
