I'd love to add by beautiful choir boy voice to such a noble idea, but the thought of me sitting in a half full computer lab and singing my part down a microphone doesn't really appeal to me!

Ah, tis true! And you can order instrumentals of songs from their record companies at my work. I doubt I'd be able to get away with it, but I guess I could give it a shot!

I'd be happy to do some drummering though...although I dunno how I'd be able to tape it :?

I atempted recording me druming once, but you need various microphones and bass mics to make it sound any good. My drum teacher went through the various ways of recording drum music with me.

The best way is to use a music sequencer program such as Cubase with pre recorded excllent quality drum hits of various toms, snares, bass drums, cymbals etc...work out your beat and write it down. Use the samples of the drums, put them all together in the pattern you want according to the written down drum beat and voila and EXCELLENt studio quality drum loop which is original and perfect for your song. Many pop bands record in this way when they don't want to have live drums. It soudns excellent and if you put it together skillfully, because the drums are actual samples and not electronic, you can't tell the differenece...you can also play more complex beats than you can actually manage yourself to...trust me!

haha - memories eh?

moyles aid was indeed produced in 3 days or something like that - with more time and an actual instrumental it could be good this year. saying that, it was an absolute injustice that moyles aid wasn't played last year :)

if stevo or somebody is up for writing something approaching sub-genius, i'd be willing to paste it all together - this time i've got a decent computer and software too!

only problem is getting him to play it. even with aleds support its hard for him to play it without seeming egotistical, etc. if its an ode to him.

I may be new to this site, but I would love to help out on a Xmas Moyles song. I used to be in a band and have a drum machine if that would be of any use. I also think that it would be better to do an original song, otherwise you've got to fit all the lyrics and styles of the contributers around someone else's backing track. Result; cheesy, chringy rubbish mess. It's easier for Comedy Dave and Chris to do it as they are doing it in the style of the artist for their parodies.

I have a funny feeling that the singing will absolutely dreadful, but you don't want it sounding llike a drunken disorganised karoke night.

Even if he's not being sarcastic, I don't think it's being big headed. I freely admit having a good singing voice, and I sing bass in my local church choir when I'm at home.

It's very harsh to call someone a tw@ just for saying they're good at something. You're the tw@ for making such a comment if you ask me Mr. Nock.

My favourite thing about Gaspode's posts is how he signs his name. Never fails to make me giggle.

Actually, I don't agree with that. I think the singing should be half decent for a chance of getting it played. Last years singing was apalling and I think that's one of the reasons that it wasn't played. There was also too much Stevotrash involvement. No offence Stevo, but you know he hates you.

Following on from Bob's suggestion of "I wish it could be Chris Moyles every day" I'd like to give some more suggestions:
Moyles Christmas (White Christmas)
Moylesie Tale of New York (OK, a dodgy title, but it would be a good song to do).
Merry Chris Moyles Everybody! (He's been out on the lash!)
Merry Chris Moyles Everyone (The Shakin Steven's version)
Last Christmas (With a Moyles theme incorporated somehow)

There's my attempt, but I still like Bobs suggestion better.
