If it helps, I broke up today, and I have two film, one Eng Lit and one Health and Social Care courseworks, plus an exam to revise for. In two weeks. And I'm going away for a few days of that. Looks like I'm gonna be working on Christmas day at this rate.

I finished the book I had to read today so I didnt have to worry about it. The Handmaids Tale - anybody read it? It's weird and kinda scary.

Of mice and men is a nice book I like Lenny. Just don't like it when you have to keep reading little bits over and over. The film of it with John Malkovich in is very good.

We watched that for English GCSE! Not bad. It was quite funny when we read it to hear my English teacher (who was Irish) trying to do an American accent.

I feel all left out now. All the other classes in my year did Of Mice and Men for GCSE apart from us. We had to do the prose from the bloody anthology instead, I dunno why.

The prose from the what? Never heard of it. My mate did Lord of the Flies, which was s'posed to be quite good, but at the end of the day, it was school, I hated it, which is why I left ASAP.

You never had an anthology? It's where we got all our poetry from, plus the short stories instead of Of Mice and Men. Its just a A4 book with poems and stories in designed especially for use in our GCSE's

i hated that anthology. after the exams i put petrol on it and set it on fire in my garden which actually made me feel much better. :twisted:

we read "Kes" for gcse english which was alright i suppose but over-analysing anything ruins it.

When I finished my GCSEs, me a group of friends went camping in the New Forest for a few days and used all our work-books and essays as bonfire material.

What's Of Mice and Men about?

If I recall;

2 american country bumpkin brothers wondering about. One is big and stupid, the other is small and scrawny, but quite clever. Basically, it's about the fact they don't get on, but they need each other for their individual strengths if they are to survive.

It was about 9 years ago that I read it though, so I could be wrong...

Now that I come to think about it, I think we did do that as well. A load of b*llocks that was, did it have stuff like "the stolen bacillus" in and all sorts of other crap?
