its seems you have to be fat, funny and from the north to actually get your own tv/radio show.

for example: chris moyles, phil jupiter (is he from the north?), jonny vegas and peter kay surely all fit into the above.

phil jupitus isnt northern. nor is dom joly as far as i know. i thought he was from the lebanon or something...

yes and the rest are all minorities. scotish / welsh / irish / indian / black, virtually. not trying to sound racist obviously, there just seems to be very few english white men

(on the bbc anyway)

My favourite Welsh accent is the Camarthenshire one! I hate Swansea accent with a passion, it's too bouncy!

Oh I'm glad you said that! Paul Hudson is an absolute living legend! He should be on the national weather, but he wouldn't be as funny without being the comedy side-kick to the news reader. He was better when Peter Levy was presenting the news at lunch time, them two made a great comedy duo. Back in the midlands we have an annoying bint known as Shefali Oza.

Ahhhh, Shefali gets on my nerves to. Its funny, I always thought our news and 'central' just covers West Mids, but someat Minnie said the other day and you also have Shefali must mean it covers all over, from Leicester to Brum to Notts to Cov.

Nah, were're not supposed to get the West Midlands news, it's just that Bosworth is so close to the Warwickshire border that we get the wrong one! It's annoying because the Leicester City coverage is in the East Midlands news.
