lol, I was about to write '6!', when I realised that would have been under the old points system. I need around 300 idealy. :(

How does the new system work?

I got a D an E and 2 Ns.
D=4 points
E=2 points
N=0 points

For A2 levels (halfed for AS's, doubled for AVCE Double awards)
A - 120points
B - 100
C - 80
D - 60
E - 40

What's the point of that? They're all factors of 10 anyway!!?!?!!

Apparently there's no N anymore either. Does it go straight from E to U?

i took a national diploma in IT and A Level Electronics coz i didn't want to do 3 or 4 subjects i wasn't interested in :) they didn't translate them in to points so all the universities had requirements for the individual amounts of distinctions or merits from the course. with mostly distinctions i met most of the entry requirements at that time but it was too complicated for my liking. at least the A-Level system was pretty simple, the new A - A/S level stuff looks extremely complicated to me. another triumph of the labour government. kids nowadays probably spend more time taking exams than being taught.

what was the point of n's anyway if you are a failure you are a failure. the new system is much more flexible an people like big numbers

I know, I never really understood it myself. Still, I may have been a failure but not as much of a failure as some :)

Yeah but you lose the AS grade if you don't cash it in Mr Dion. This means you could drop your grades to E's and come out with 120 points or something (if you are doing 3).

Ahhhh, Spanish Orals are the worst thing ever. I shook so much in mine last year my teacher got very seriously worried about me, I was near tears, I hated it.

Sidla - know nothing about N's, an F's a fail.

Aww (that's my sympathetic "aww" - doesn't really work over the internet though) What grade did you get?

C, which I was happy with cos that was the average for French students too but they'd been doing it for 5 years and we'd crammed it all into 2. Did yours go ok? At least its done now!

Yup, well done! I've had 2 years with Spanish too.. so in reality we are probably a lot brainier than the people who do French. Yeah baby I'm an intellectual! My oral went fine, I stumbled a bit when I got asked what my favourite type of Frecnh food was (why why WHY did I get asked that??!) and I went and said something daft like fish with something.. damn. But the rest was fantastico!

English went ok, it was strange. Did a paper about the Dodo, not used to the format, but I was quite happy.

I'm just hurrying off for last minute Maths revision, pretty scared of it. We have to stay til 4pm tomorrow doing that, I always freak out and draw on my arms about two thirds of Maths exams.

Then Accounts & Finance, which isn't too bad really. Then a week off, :D
