What's with the Newsbeat bashing? Radio 1 news output obviously has to appeal to it's target audience, 15-24 year olds, and bearing in mind they have to do that I think it still manages to maintain excellent news standards. I read The Times, and I listen to Newsbeat. The two aren't exclusive of each other.

i'm not saying they're mutually exclusive. i just didn't understand slagging off the guardian as "intellectual." i don't know. maybe i thought america was the only country were most of its citizens like their news draped with entertainment. newsbeat is okay, but it shouldn't be one's main new source.

Jardel managed to slim down, didn't he?....

I remember early in the season he was a sub at Fratton and at half time he was warming up on the pitch and about 20,000 people pissed themselves laughing at the tubby mupet.

Big sam got him on the Atkins diet and he did lose some weight.
