conclusion you all clearly suck. mozilla now has about 10 x more features than IE and is fully customizable. if you want to see what it is capable of visit

http://mozilla.linuxfaqs.de/darst.html

and you'll see that IE doesn't support any of that stuff, and yes it is all official web standards stuff.

and as for opera, well that has like half the features of all the othe browsers and either has ads or you have to pay for it

doesn't really matter that it's in german, you should see that IE * up big time. run it through http://babel.altavista.com if you want to know the specifics

Have just tried Mozila, it's rubbish. Slow, and generally not very good at all. The new version of opera however, is very good indeed. My default browser from now on in fact. timb, you speak out of your arse I'm afraid.

I would have Opera over Mozilla any day, but I have to go for MSIE (probably because I'm more used to it and too lazy to try another one properly.)

my grandad of a pc likes a nice easy ride. IE is far too busy for me but mozilla is a bit slower than IE but is very kind to my frail pc. havent tried opera yet, by the way is the new version opera 6? because if it is then i have it for free on a disk i got from internet magazine 8)

If you specifically want the English (UK) version the latest is 6.04, but the newest US version is 7.02.

bollocks to you sir.

opera doesn't even remember passwords. it also doesn't support half of the stuff that mozilla does and has virtually no configurable features.

I never get my browser to remember my passwords anyway, too many people I don't trust in my house.
By timb

that's why mozilla lets you use profiles and you can password protect your profile with a single password. i have so many important logins i couldn't survive without password remembering. luckily this pc is totally mine and i just lock it wheni leave it

You really don't have a clue do you? Opera is probably the most customisable browser going, you can do loads of things, especially if you don't mind getting your hands dirty and adding a few lines of code to the config files. You can even change the menus if you're not happy with them. Oh, and it's a lot faster than Mozilla too, which is so slow it's untrue.

I never let my machine rememebr passwords anyway, so that's not an issue for me.

I'm not overly familiar with XP but it's unlikely to be a virus. Other than that, can't really help you I'm afraid. Try punting around Google Groups (http://groups.coogle.com) to see if you can find anything similar to your problem or the MS Knowledge Base on their site.

Oooh, what a well thought out argument. Mozilla IS slow, it's slower than IE, and Opera is generally recognised as the fastest browser currently available, do you not know anything?

Oh, and I'm not dopey, I'm Morals. Dopey is someone else.

those were two different messages in one post you gimps. the fact that i referenced his name in the post should of given you a clue that the message was for him and not you.

ps mozilla aint slow. opera is a lump of crap. no-one takes it seriously as a browser.

I think (although I can't be sure) Morals wa being sarcastic. And he takes Opera seriously. Mozilla is shite, I think you are in the minority on most subjects here timb.

Sorry to bring this back (and please god, don't let it start another argument) but does anyone know if I can install two different versions of MSIE on the same computer? I want to be able to test a site in an older browser.

I have the executable for 3.02 from oldversion.com but it won't install it because I am running version 6.
