Mills did a little very nice speech for 2 minutes where he said what needed to be said, and the fact that he had only ever met John once properly, but he was really pleased he did.

I wouldnt have a go at Scott, I'm sure he's upset, but Radio 1 needs to get back to normal at some point...

Does every DJ from every station, need to pay some form of respect to him? I wouldnt get upset as I know other DJs from my station have done it. I'd rather just do the show, and carry on as normal.

Naturally everyone at Radio 1 is going to be upset, but why spoil a show by dragging it on. Its a bit harsh people going -

Well you never know, he might be the new John Peel - unlikely, but its best not to get upset about it, surely?!

I think Mills is actually quite insecure; I don't think he would have been able to do a show like Moyles did. Nothing against him, that's just how he is.

I thought Spoony did a good job yesterday, as did Lammo with his excellent tribute show at 11. Try to catch it on the Radio Player.

It's not disrespectful at all. Scott didn't have a strong connection with John as Jo Whiley did, so you can't expect them to do the same kind of show. There's millions of listeners Scott has to present to. In my opinion, the news wont affect the mojority of them, and alot of those who it does won't mind radio1 moving on.

If it bothers you so much, turn Radio1 off and go mourn John in your own way.

Agreed, it would be more disrespectful of Scott to make up that he was close to Peel when he wasnt than just carry on. At least he did mention the news on his first show back even though it was briefly

Maybe a decision was made to only mention it for that 2mins then move on with the show.

2mins was probably enough for most listeners who have heard alot more on the rest of the shows in the 24hours before hand. Maybe it was just too much for YOU to ask, and not the other 5 million listeners.

I still fail to see it as disrespectful, and have more respect for Scott getting on with the show. It no way makes Spoony better or more respectful just because he had more to say on the matter.
