OK, I am 19, still live with mum, have shared a room with my brother since I was 5 and need some space of my own.

Since a lot of the stuff of some value in the house is mine (PS2, DVD player, PC, telly) it is in my room, plus the fact that there's no room for them anywhere else. This means everybody is always in my room playing PlayStation, on the internet, watching the telly when something else is on dowstairs.

There are so many people that crowd the house, especially at weekends, mum's bf's 3 kids, 2 of them have bf's and its just really shit.

I'm not sure I can get a place of my own, I would love a mortgage, 'cos at the end of the day there is no point in renting you don't get anything from your money, but not sure I can, and it doesn't help being financially thick.

I'm just really fed up and I need to make sure that I'm not a miserable git....

I actually have a job that's not badly paid for my age, but not sure if that is enough to warrant getting a mortgage.

well you are normally allowed 3 times your salary. Now if that adds up to £30,000 or so then you are fuct.

Right, I get paid hourly, I think its about £15,000 a year, so looking at £45,000, which means I am still fuct. Ta anyway!

i wouldn't advise taking out a mortgage at 19, you may end up leaving the city in the next few years and you'll be left with the burden of selling a house. Your best bet is to stay in rented accomadation (bug the bank for an increased overdraft or a loan) and explore the opportunites of purchasing property when your 21.

As for bob's jibe against students waisting taxpayers money I find myself in a position of being in debt by 12k since leaving uni, money borrowed from taxpayers but with a accumulating interest whacked on top. Therefore taxpayers money is being invested rather than wasted on students.

Compare this predicament to to people on the dole, who recieve money for sitting on the backsides and don't have to pay it back or those ilegally claiming income support whilst working? How about young single mums competing over who can sleep with the most blokes, make the most babies and claim the most child support benifit? This country is full of * morons, showing sympathy to jurassic slappers who swindle hard working citizins out of cash just so they can raise the future generations of little louts. If we had any sense as a nation we'd send these whores along with their criminally inclined off to a foreign land and accept the influx of skilled labour immagrants who'd have a much more positive impact upon society. However, still remain the element within the U-shite kingdom witha level of intellegence matched only by ozzy * ozbourne who will continue to blindly attack foreigners attempting to steal 'their' jobs. It should be pointed out that these jobs are usually beneath or above this contingent of dip shits and therefore have zero impact upon their situation.

In conclusion, students recieve an unfair portrayl. If working class people want to ponder where there tax money goes bar, hospitals, roads, emergency services, buildings, rubbish collection, lamp posts, schools, colleges...they need to look at corrupt politics, lazy dole scroungers, benifit frauds and dirty sluttish shazza's who will open their legs for any tom, harry and in particular dick which might offer the opportunity of claiming a little extra cash at the post office 9 months down the line.

As an accountant my professional advice being (get a life sunshine) is rent a property or stop b**ching about how life sucks at your house as you have it luckier than many other people by the sounds of it.
