Zoe Ball is to split from her husband, DJ Norman Cook, after problems in their short marriage.
Her agent Vivienne Clore confirms the couple are separating amicably to give themselves "a bit of time and breathing space".
She says the welfare of their two-year-old son Woody is paramount and he is expected to spend time with both parents during the split.
She stresses the split did not mean a definite end to the three-and-a-half-year marriage and the couple are just needing time apart.
Zoe, 32, is at their family beach home in Brighton.
Her agent Ms Clore said: "They have split for now. It is very amicable and they just want a bit of time to have a bit of breathing space.
"Woody is much loved by both of them and his welfare is paramount."
Asked what caused the marital breakdown, she said generally: "No one ever knows what causes these problems."
Ms Clore said ex-Radio One presenter Zoe is likely to stay in the north London home she already uses four days a week when she works for radio station XFM.

It's not right, people have to stop splitting up, now please! I was reading an article (The Sun I think) about how more relationships end in January then any other month...no point to make about that just thought it was a little fact you'd all like to know.
