The Chemical composition of all the teams fuels have to be within a set composition so that not huge advantage is given to one team over an other. So it doesn't matter who provides the fuel none of them are going to be more flammable than the other so it doesn't matter that the fuel was supplied by shell. So as it was the faulty fuel rig that caused a spark to ignite the fuel it would of done the same to any of the other teams if they had the same trouble.

The aim was not to stop him winning full stop, just to stop him running away with it, and if they can stop him winning the championship that's a bonus to be honest.
