Damit! My company have just installed a new firewalll and real audio player can't stream through it anymore. Plus normal radio reception is useless in my building.
Anyone know if Radio 1 will be broadcast through Windows Media player anytime soon or know of any other web meida players that take Real Audio format

Maybe a digital radio is the thing to get, it's just it would be nice not to have to spend money.

If normal radio is useless digital radio probably wont be any better. I doubt the BBC will use windows media player streaming anytime soon as you probably have to give all your money to microsoft to use it, plus it sucks. Also another program wouldn't help because the stream will be coming through the same port which will still be blocked by the firewall. Try and get your company to open up the real stream port or install some kind of aerial on the roof.

They streamed in Ogg Vorbis for about half a year once. It was good then. Our school has a firewall, and every programme is blocked to the internet bar IE and Real One, so I still get to listen there.

Thanks Ickle, strangely now that I can't listen to the radio, I'm getting less work done as I try and find ways round them blocking the real audio streaming.
Timb, I work for a very large company and they're not going to change their internet policy just 'cause I can't listen to the radio. Unfortunalty I'm not THAT important to the company

Guess I'll just listen to my collection of mp3s instead.

If you like parodies like that, also listen to some from Wierd Al Yankovich. He has done hundreds. They are done in a proper recording studio so the quality is excellent.
