That means the server the site is based on has just been upgraded.

Chris won't be able to do anything about it. Normally all systems are go within a day or two.

its almost like there has been so much demand for the homepage that chris has changed the servers it is on... but not had a chance to get the actual site onto the new server.

Go to the website you want a picture of.

Click print screen (next to Scroll Lock). IThis will a shot of the screen basically.

Then go into something like Paint Shop Pro and click on paste. You should have a snap shot of the screen.

As for the site. Chris is going to probably mention it tm.. Hope its back up.

The site was removed by the hosts as the load was essentially killing the server for other people trying to use it.

It'll be back. And I'll have a backup plan in place next time.

The board is hosted on a machine that does nothing else. It could cope much better than the primary web server.

This server can actualy support more scripts than the normal web page servers as they are more exensive.

and if the url forwarding was changed then most people's ISP's wouldn't update in time 'cos they take about 3 - 4 days.

What does exensive mean?

If you can have your current host continue to register the domains for you then you would only need to update the DNS, and down time will only be about 3 hours max. It would take a while to go through, though.

To reduce the bandwith used Chris could change that large background picture of Moyles. A great face for radio.

This is getting a little bit too geeky now. I think that Chris is much more capable of doing this than we are.

Ad, You can't beat a tidy desktop etc on your computer. I can't stand all the clutter. I absolutely hate it when people have files all over their desktop. I like to keep mine really clear and only ahve essentials in the sytem tray or on the desktop............

My taskbar and system tray have got loads of stuff in them cos it's easier to have them at hand down there than having to delve into the Start Menu or close windows down to get to the desktop to open something.

you don't need to close the windows down to get to things, just click the desktop icon (Next to the start button in my picture). I have got many more things in my system tray, they're just hidden. A simple click on the button by the tray will slide it open revealing the goods.

But as far as I'm aware those of us still using Windows 98 don't have that option.

Yes, you have about 20 programs open simaltaniously. If you stopped a few you'd notice a considerable performance improvemance.

You should see my Quick Launch bar at home, it's got loads of stuff on it, I find it easier that way.

The more stuff in them, the more RAM and CPU usage your system is eating up.
