i think my computers broke. i now find that when i play any of my mp3s, after about 2 seconds the pitch drops, and the eq somehow changes (even when it is still set to default in mediaplayer) almost completely blocking off some frequencies.
so, is this a virus, or is it to do with the fact that i recently upgraded my windows media player.

I'd need more info on the software you're using to give you an accurate answer, but it *might* be a conflict between the audio software you use to play music files and the actual windows mixer itself. (The windows mixer is basically the volume control panel that comes up when you access the volume control application in Programs > Accessories > Entertainment (that's where it is on my start menu anyway).

It really is only a guess, but if the problem's only arisen since you've installed / upgraded your audio software then chances are it's the software causing the problem. Have you tried a different application (such as real one or musicmatch jukebox)? If so, does the problem occur when using these programs?

that actually worked (i think) it just means that i cant play my fkng songs through kazaa, i have to open the bstrds first. oh well. at least i still have my youth.
