Everyone must have noticed Vicky's accent change in Eastenders. I mean, what's going on there? This isn't Neighbors for christs sake!

When she first appeared in the soap some months ago, she had the worst american accent i've ever heard. But, as time went on you kind of get used to it and accept it ( a bit like eastenders in general). Then all of a sudden it changes into the worst kind of home counties stage school whine.

Up until now Eastenders has been the only credable soap on telly. Now it's going the way of sunset beach!

I never found Vicki's accent that annoying, I thought it was quite good actually, especially for a girl whose not American.

And they say its because she has 'chosen' to live in Walford so now she has to fit ni (according to Now magazine..it was only 50p)!

if you watched points of view, they said that vicky lived her first 9 years in Walford and the last 7 in America, they said that when someone is back in their own surroundings, their accent comes back. that is eastenders script writers talk though.

It could be true actually. We had some Americans stay in our village for a few years, and the you wouldn't know children once had American accents by the time they went back.

you accent changes depending on where you are and who you are talking too as well. i did notice it though.... yes im as sad as adam. she just changed in one episode.

Thank god it wasn't just me who saw that then. Apparently you don't lose your accent for ages unless you move before you're about five. Not sure if that's right though.

in one of the episodes dennis her brother asks what happened to her accent she replies that now she is going to be living in the uk she will speak in a british accent, thats after vicki and sharon return from a short trip round europe and previous to that vicki and sharon had a bust up and she got sent back to america so theres another blip in the story.

it takes a lot of effort. it took me 6 months trying to lose my scottish accent when i moved back to wales, and that was trying my hardest to fit in!

I don't think she's 'pretty damn hot'. Theres nothing speical about her, if she wasn't on Eastenders & I saw her in the street i wouldn't look twice at her.
