Does anyone ever use the online chat feature on this site?

Just curious as I connected having nothing better to do and found the channel somewhat emptyish... Anyway, loitering at the moment.

I used to use it a lot when I had mIRC but since it gave me a virus i havent used it

IRC rocks though - mIRC won't give you any viruses as long as you disable DCC sends in the options, and there are plenty of other IRC clients to choose from if you'd rather not take the risk but still have IRC.. http://www.xchat.org for one, there are quite a few..

The chatroom died months ago. It did used to be good though, me, Sidla, Mcqueen, Lewis and Loz were regulars. I miss it

Yeah I've been loitering around in there now in the hope others may get the urge to join, all my nicks contain "LC" in there somewhere, though I disconnect over the weekend as I get to take my laptop to work (Yippie for me!) and umm, I'm rambling on so I think this will do... i find it hard to believe that of the how ever many users visit per day, 180 today and it's 1pm - i can't believe only 1 or 2 wanna chat to other people who go on the site, from experience i'd suggest using a java applet which is built into the site, rather than a download? always remember, people are lazy so they're gonna just wanna go, chat -> press connect, and they're on.. i dunno though *shrug*

I really want to move from the webmaster IRC site. The people who have responsibility for the channel are nothing to do with this site which has caused problems in the past.

the_dr owns the channel... I thought you had contact with him?

Nothing to do with the site, as I said.

Anyway, the new applet has been uploaded. Nobody becomes an Op without my say so - so don't ask. This should hopefully stop the problems that were experienced last time. The words too, big and boots always sprung to mind.

I really should be more observant in this forum, take this evening for example, I get home from work, connect up my laptop and bounce into IRC... The channel is empty... Completely empty.... Then quarter of an hour layter I discover the channels moved servers and suddenly I start finding people... Yay...

So far tonight we've seen Sionide, Aaron, Mcqueen, Stevotrash, Sebbywood, TipsyDipsy, Minnie The Minx and some guy called Ice-T (who's not a forum member) so we expect to maybe see the rest of you shortly...
