Hey all,

It's that time again when programmes have to be submitted for the Sony Awards. This year I REALLY want us to have the best chance possible of bagging one of those babies so I thought I'd turn to people who really know their stuff - you.

We on the show have an idea of what we want submitted - but I thought I'd ask what you thought should go in.

So please answer the following:

1) Your favourite Car Park Catchphrase of the year
2) Your favourite Chris link which best highlights how funny he is
3) Your favourite show.

- don't forget we're looking for entire links that are funny more than a punchline gag at the end of a link that might have got a big laugh. Kicking me for example is probably only funny at the point of kicking!

As I said we have a shortlist already I'd just be interested to hear your point of view in case I've missed something.

The dealine for this is Wednesday the 22nd so not long!

Thanks

Aled

Aled - it might be worth you trawling through the sounds forum to look at what people have requested.

My favourite CPC was the one in Southampton where Scott Mills was on a boat.

The best link was them doing impressions of prince phillip.

I agree with Minnie the Minx about the Southampton CPC. Either that or the one back in August I think with there being a police man on CPC and Dom and all were doing "Irish Stew" jokes and the caller wasnt understaning.

Its quite hard to think back to links at the beginning of the year, but a recent one was the talk about Chris' train journey home and the football supporters on the tannoy system. That was hilarious.

Surely the audio imaging is worth a sony on its own?! :P

I agree with David, that train journey link was utterly hilarious. Also, and this is going back to your early days on the breakfast, there was a show where Chris was telling the story about how he was chasing someone through leeds, slipped and hurt his leg and got a bravery award. I had to pull over I was laughing so much at that. I think the latter was the funniest, but they're both close.

I also liked the CPC where that guys horn wouldn't work so he had to make the sound himself.

Where the guy said "Its better to have a pet with 2 heads" (3rd August), last weeks with cutting Jamelia off, "Folk music is queer" (23rd Nov) are the 3 car park catchphrases that come to mind.

As for Links, its hard to think of particular ones. The Leeds train story the other week was great, as was when the fire alarm went off. Also, 1st September HT with Chris and Dave ranting about woman talking when watching TV.

Cant think of certain shows, although most from Portugal were good. Especially when they sent you out to wake up the Swiss team, cos each link going back to you was funny.

Also, any chance of letting us know which ones you decide to enter, when you do?

Ooh yes, and when you went to wake up the other team at their hotel before the match - can't remember which team!

That'd be the Swiss team mentioned three posts earlier then Lucie...

I honestly can't think of stuff like this off the top of my head cos there's been so many great shows and moments on breakfast. However (you knew that was coming), for best links you'd be hard pushed to beat Dom phoning those Hawaiian hotels... aloha.

Aled btw - if you look at the old Friday reviews from me in the archive, I put a list of best bits from each week in there. They might help you some more.

Oh and don't put the train journey link on your tape cos it was nowhere near as funny as some people on here seem to think.

I think the Policeman was called Bruce on CPC, that one stands out for me, also the battles between Moyles and Jo Whiley at the end of the show are sometimes funny, I liked the penalty shootout thing for tickets at the start of the season - that's far better then the vote one you have on at the moment (don't know if it's still on haven't listened for a few weeks) and Will Young, Matt Lucas and David Walliams and Travis have always been good guests. Can't think of anything else at the moment.

My favourite CPC was the one that I won.

Funniest moment- Chris taking over Jo Whiley's show to avoid going to the gym.

Favourite show- the first time Chris said Rockaloola.

2nd Favourite show- The second time Chris said Rockaloola.

3rd Favourite show will be confirmed the next time Chris says Rockaloola.

I can't think of a favourite CPC as I am a bit sick of it now, one of the recent ones with Chris talking to Roy a lot would probably sound the best to fresh ears. I guess the one with the bloke who said he was "the saviour of Car Park Catchphrase" sticks in my mind the most.

As for favourite link (from the top of my head), Terry and Ken impressions from the exam results day show, freestyle MLS rapping (not the recorded version), King of Tickets, the Grit Awards and making Wes sing the chart come to mind.

As for favourite show, it's hard to say. The first show after the ratings went up in May, the A-Level results day show and the OB in Newcastle, maybe.

Joules' last day was an emotionally good one. Including the fire alarm bit. But most of the good bits have been mentioned above.

Jo Wiley sandwich was a really good link and I really enjoyed the Dairy Lees rapping but that was over 4 links so I guess it doesnt count.

Best CPC was either the lady with the v high voice and the guy with the plane landing on his head, the Rachel stalker one was quite good and the two idiots trying to get rabbit in headlights

Damn, I'm too late but I'll post mines anyway. Best CPC has to be the Rachel stalker one, and the best link has to be the imfamous discussion about the chatroom at half time. Rob DJ's pub quiz is also really good.

Good Job you are late IMO if you think Rob DJ's pub quiz is Sony Worthy.
