i have windows xp and was wondering if there is anyway of getting past the windows login screen if you dont know the user password?

also is there a file that stores or some way of finding out the user password in windows xp?

anyone care to help?

i believe Gemma is correct, if you go into safe mode you can change the administrator password.

Windows XP generally piss*s me off.

I cant remeber what the file is called offhand, but apparently in safe mode you can search for a certain file which contains information about user profiles. You would have to look it up.

Can you just change the password in the admin account in safe mode?

Did I mention I got a new PC today? Well it's come with Windows XP. So far I'm pretty impressed, but for some reason the fecking thing disconnected me and dialed up one of those sex line thingys without giving me any warning whatsoever.
