Is there anyone here that likes the Darkness?

I recently purchased the Album, Permission to Land. Turns out after hearing the Album i like a few more of the songs.

Track 2 - Get your hands of my women is a fairly quality track to be honest. The same goes for Growing on me and Do you believe in a thing called love?

What does everyone else thing of them?

I like them... everyone in my year likes them. I got their album on the day of release, its great. Friday Night's the best song... also a favorite on Radio 2.

The album is currently in rotation on the minidisc player, along with the Thrills and athlete.

i dislike them intensly. i dont really have firm reasons yet but over the coming months im sure i'll find some.

cool being that he can go off stage and change into a black and white stripy leotard (spl?) thingy and come back onto main stage at reading for the packed crowd to cheer more!!!

I have had the album on pretty much all day. I adore it. Track 2 is so on edge, it's so damn good. "Get the hands off my wife *" Great to sing around school. The guitar in it is hot, I wish I could play.

Other songs I like are definitely Track 8 - Friday night. It's cute.
And probably 6 - Givin Up. I see Bridgie had that as his name, it's a good angsty song.

I would recommend the album to anyone really.

Queen is one of those artists that I will have the greatest hits, but I hate most of their albums on their own.

darkness are like electric six, catchy, fun but not 'the next big thing' as some claim.

But since Queen don't release anymore, isn't it nice to have a band that releases songs in the same style.

Yeah, but Queen (or at least Roger Taylor and Brian May) release a song every time they get a duet offer.

After Nirvana came along rock bands started to take a diversion away from Queen style rock. Hopefully the Darkness will bring back the good old days. I'd rather there be more than just Queen releasing those kind of songs.
