i bought the Darkness and it is a good album and Friday night is a good record i think they are a good band but not the band the Kerrang have made them out to be and i'd rather them sound like Queen than the Beatles and Stones because that has been done. I'm looking forward to the Muse album and our time is running out is an exellent single.

I think the Darkness are great, one of those bands, you can listen to in the car, bounce your head, and attempt to sing along in the same tones as the singer.

Maybe i should have started a new thread:

"Bands/genres ur embarassed to admit u madly dance and sing along to whilst driving. . ."

Or just leave it as...
"Bands/genres ur embarassed to admit u madly dance and sing along to"

Then that leaves the freedom for people to do it anywhere rather than just in a car.

My friend Clare met all the members of the darkness on the weekend, while they were playing at the Surfers against sewage ball thing (not really a ball but hey) and she had backstage pass and got autographs and had drinks with them and said their all lovely blokes....some people have all the luck.

That is an insult to everyone else in the category. Dizzee Rascal, I can't recall any of his songs thankfully, as I know they are awful. The Darkness deserved it, their album is worthy. I would have been happy with Coldplay or The Thrills.

But Dizzee Rascal? Is this some sort of "we aren't racist lets get a black dude" or something, its odd.

I think Dizzee Rascal is alright, i like his stuff better than the Darkness but it looks like in a minority on this board.

I dont nesscary like Black Music but how can people actually say that Dizzee Rascal doesnt deserve the award? What - were you expecting The Darkness to win it - or worse still Coldplay?

Give me one good reason (DAVID/ SIDLA/ G'BOOT) why he shouldnt of got that award.

If you disagree - complain.

Where did I say that he didn't deserve to win the award? All my posts contain my opinion, and my opinion was that Dizzee Rascal is rubbish.

Lets face it Coldplay weren't going to win it, they didn't win it the first time and it's not as if they need the money or to win it to get recognised although I'm sure the money would of gone to fairtrade.com or what ever it is anyway.

dizzee rascals music is tripe and unlistenable. lemon jelly are far more innovative.

It shouldn't be about the money, it should be about the talent. I don't like dizzee rascal's music, I don't find it new, refreshing or appealing. If you want innovation, I agree with Uglybob - Lemon Jelly. Hip hop isn't my style of music, I find it rather bland and samey.

All that Sean Paul, Jay Z irritate me. If I want talented artists to listen to, I pick ones with the originality of Coldplay and The Darkness whose songs have a lot more meaning to me.
