its something along the lines of a guy who used to work there said to his young daughter (shes a celeb of some kind now, i forget who, i think lisa rogers(?)) that he worked at the BBC and she used to ask what it was and he used to humour her by telling her it was the 'Broken Biscuit Company' and they fixed peoples broken biscuits

i'm sure someone can find the full story somewhere
