TOTP is being reborn as ALL NEW Top Of The Pops this Friday with a one-hour special, and will in future be broadcast live.

Guests will include Victoria Beckham, who will give viewers the chance to choose which of two tracks on her double a-side single she should perform on a future show.

Sir Elton John will be performing live from Atlanta with a rendition of Your Song, which was only the second track he ever played on TOTP back in 1970.

Kylie Minogue will be in the studio, and The Darkness’s new video for their festive track Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End) will be given its premiere.

Mel C is turning TV presenter for an international edition of Top Of The Pops.

She will host a 40th anniversary special for the show on the BBC’s overseas station BBC Prime. Viewers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa will be able to choose from their favourite acts of the past four decades to decide who should be seen in a New Year’s Eve edition of the show.

I saw Andi Peters (the new producer) on Liquid News the other night and he seemed to be pretty confident about the show. I think it's a good move to broadcast it live but apparently he is cutting the number of performances per show from 11 to 7 to make way for more chat and interviews.

I personally would prefer more music and less chat but Peters is obviously trying to make the show more like CD:UK.

The new presenter is Tim Kash from MTV.



I've never heard of him but I'm presuming he must be good if he is going to be the regular presenter each week. I must admit I'd have preferred Fearne Cotton myself...but then again that's not down to her presenting skills...

i tried to get some tickets for the trl christmas show with darkness yesterday. got a call this morning saying it was totally booked up but seen as it was me ringing, they'd send me some priority tickets anyway to make sure i get in the studio!

I saw Tim Kash on MTV Cribs last night (that must have been hard for them - to get one of their own employees to show them around their home - hardly as impressive as Shaq) and he seemed really weird. He had Daily Star style newspaper cuttings on his wall 'because they interest him' or something.

That was a piss take of the whole Cribs concept - because one of the female MTV presenters shows the viewers around a horse stables.
