Anyone know how CM got into the radio business at the start of his career? Did he go in as a news journalist? Did he get the relevant degree?

How did he progress in his career? Did he just do the usual malarky of sending off demos or did he get poached by the bigger fish? How did he adapt? Did he always present, or did he start off backstage?

And how the hell did he manage to get away with the kind of shit he said?

Any info/web sites/audio on this? I'd like to hear an MP3 of his olden days, if anyone's got owt.

Chris started his radio career at an early age working for a hospital radio station in Leeds (located in the top of a very large building in a mental unit!). From there his career progressed in leaps and bounds with him joining Aire FM in Leeds at the age of 16.

He then worked for The Pulse, Chiltern Radio, RTL Luxemboug, Signal Radio, GWR and Capital FM - before he finally joined BBC Radio One in 1997 as their second youngest DJ ever (only Noel Edmonds was younger).

No - he didn't go in as a News journalist or go to University. There really isn't an relevant degree into Radio.
