could you not do it on dodgy audio, its not as if theyre caring about quality, do it at a bitrate of 64 and make it mono.

Yes but some people would prefer better quality than small file sizes. It won't be too bad to download on broadband as good quality.

I could go off on one about how it's pointless recording FM radio at 128kbps when FM is transmitted at 64kbps, but I've said it sooo many times before I can't be arsed. Some people are so thick it's untrue.

MP3 files are compressed - i.e. recompressed from the original source, even if it's the 'same' bitrate.

Record FM at 64kbps at you'll notice the difference.

I guess that is correct actually. However I do stand by the fact that there's no point going above 128.
