can anyone help me

when i click on some links and the page can't be displayed my computer opens up more internet pages until about fifty pages are open then it stops, then as i go to close them, coz i really don't want fifty pages telling me the page could not be displayed, even more of them start opening. the only way i've found of stopping them is to turn the computer off but i'm ususlly in the middle of something and i lose whatever i was doing when i turn ther computer back on.

anybody know why my internet is screwed up?

u can usually get rid of those things by right clicking on the bar or it might be a bit of spyware that youve not knowingly downloaded so id install ad-aware, you get it from download.com. if you dont want pop ups, try pop up stopper from panicware.

ok. i right clicked it nad its gone but then when i open anoth IE it comes back again and ive never downloaded anything from download.com and ive looked at the "add remove programs" list and theres no ad-aware to un-install. anywhere else it could be? i downloaded kazaa a while ago but i dont think its been doing it straight after i got that. so im stuck now.

If you know the name of the search bar that keeps appearing, you could search your computer and if it comes up with any results you could delete them but thats a bit risky.

yeah it is but ad-aware would get rid of it though, plus you have to run regedit and take it out. there was one i had which was called hotbar and what you do is go into find and type the name it says on the search bar and something should come up. delete it.

right click on windows
choose explore
choose temporary internet files
you should see a + drop down menu
click on it
should say content ie5 with another +
click on that
should have folders there, delete all them

ad-aware gets away all the cookies that have spyware, it doesnt delete your cookies that stores your password for here etc.

Sheep, I have that same problem with the blue search bar. I noticed that it seemed to appear after I downloaded the Plus! feature for Msn messenger, have you got this too? I did get rid of it once but then I had to re-install Windows and download Plus! again so its back and I can't remember how I got rid of it :(

My PC hides the status bar by default, so every time you load IE you have to turn it back on. Does anyone know if there's a way around this?

For pop-ups I just use the Google toolbar, very useful.

See Here.

I had that problem before and i solved it by just doing the first bit, didn't touch the regedit and it worked. Alternatively get a better browser.
