it says by Sara Cox's picture "Catch Sara in her new slot 4pm weekdays from Jan 5th"? So does this mean her show will only be 2 hours long and Mark and Lard will be extended to 3 hours? Or is it just a case of the Radio 1 webteam being sloppy again?!

Also re: Newsbeat presenters, I'm putting my money on Dominic Byrne and David Garrido joining the team at breakfast, although I always like the way Chris 'flirted' with the female news readers (George, Carolyn, etc.). Incidentally, does anyone remember what happened to Carolyn Atkinson?

When they originally announced the schedule changes, Sara was due to start at 3pm... however it may of chanegd since then...

Incidentally, does anyone remember what happened to Carolyn Atkinson?

I'm sure one day they announced she was going for 6 months... and she never came back. But I may be wrong.

I think it's most likely them being sloppy again because I was listening to the end of Coxy's last breakfast show the other week and she said her new show started on January 5th at 3pm...

both wrong. Chris said to George in his last couple of weeks that he was getting promoted and she isn't, and (as has been pointed out in another thread) she is the main newsbeat presenter and presents both bulletins at 12.45 and 5.45 - and therefore won't be doing breakfast.

As for Chappers, at the end of his football annual show with dave on boxing day, he said that he was looking forward to the lie-ins when he moves to afternoons with coxy in the new year.

I will admit that I have caught a few of her shows recently and she isn't as bad as I originally thought. She can be quite funny and will probably do ok on afternoons. However, I'm normally at college in the afternoons so won't be listening (even if home early - I'll be listening to Chris's breakfast show that I'll have taped) whereas with chris in that slot, I used to make a special effort to tune in.

I'm sure she'll only be there until her baby is born anyway. I predict she'll then get weekends in a swap with Scott Mills, hence Nemone taking over early breakfast next week to reduce the amount of disruption when this happens. Just my thoughts anyway...

Scott Mills was excellent in for Moyles at 3pm.

Both should get the slots.

I agree. I also think Wes is quite good (shock horror - again). I listened to a bit of him on Christmas day and he was quite funny.

Now he has settled in he seems to be doing fine.

I know I have been slagging Wes off in another thread on here recently but I listened to him on the chart of the year today and I think he is excellent on the chart shows (I think I like the "new" format now aswell). I would be interested to see if he's got the figures up since Goodier left. Anyone know?

I do agree with Hoare though, he's definitely changed his surname to butters from penk.

that's the chart on most of the stations round here. Goodier just sounds so pre-recorded on it to me.

Galaxy have taken Hit 40 UK since EMAP dropped it and I just find it weird listening to coldplay, chili peppers, stereophonics etc on galaxy when it's normally just dance and r'n'b bollocks. Likewise people must find it bizarre listening to all the pop in the smash hits chart on kiss 100fm in london, although I did hear somewhere that they just cut it all out and reduce the show by an hour.
