I'll never forget his hilarious line...

"They laughed at me when I said I wanted to be a comedian, but they are not laughing at me now!"

I didn't know he lived in Leighton Buzzard, that's just down the road.

Wipeout was good though, he ws better than Daniels on it.

I can only remember him from wipeout not family fortunes. I didnt even knopw he was ill either and its a tribute to him that he carried on with his normal life and joked about his illness. RIP Bob Monkhouse.

Oh Room 101 was good. He got the French, Elvis and ventriloquists into Room 101...not allowed was Cilla Black (gosh her singing hurt...), The Big Breakfast and something else

if i remember correctly from whence i was young, Bob was the first ever guest on Room 101 and it must be about 1994/95.

I refute that, Daniels was the original and the best at Wipeout. Bob should have stuck to Celebrity Squares.

RIP Bob.

Yeah, Paul Daniels was much better as Bob had the annoying habit of trying to build up suspense about whether an answer was right or not and essentially gave the answer away in the process by describing what it was.

Bob was brilliant in stand up and on Bob's Full House though.
