It is no big shock to see figures for Channel 4 viewership has gone down below the 10% mark what with Brookside dying on its arse and Rise as riveting to watch as Terry Wogan hosting a Channel 5 programme but the whole blame I think has to be levelled at FRIENDS. Channel 4 should rename itself to Friends TV because all it seems to show is Friends. Dont believe me. Well have a look at this
THESE FIGURES ARE REAL
Number of Friends episodes today on Channel 4 / E4 - NINE
Number in last 7 days - TWENTY FOUR
Thats an average of 3 and a bit episodes a day. If your a fan then you are more than likely to have seen every episode at least 3 times.
The problem is that in 2004 is the year that The Simpsons join Channel 4. What is the betting that Channel 4 will kill the popularity of the Simpsons too with a constant showing at 6pm every day with a showing in the morning at 7:30am and a 5 show omnibus on Sunday. I know a lot of people like the Simpsons but how many times do we need to see the episode of Krusty Camp that must have been on every week 2 years ago when BBC2 got the rights.
