Theres a bit in todays paper (Sunday people i think...) that says Radio1 is having another shakeup soon.

Jo Whiley, Mark n Lard and Dave Pearce all facing the chop and to be replaced with Colin & Edith, Scott Mills and Vernon.

RADIO 1 is facing its biggest shake-up EVER in a bid to boost ratings, The People can reveal.

The LOSERS will include mid-morning host Jo Whiley, afternoon boys Mark and Lard, and drivetime's Dave Pearce.

Instead, Edith Bowman and Colin Murray, Scott Mills, Vernon Kaye and Zane Lowe will WIN prime time slots.

Station chief Andy Parfitt has already replaced Sara Cox with Chris Moyles on the breakfast show from tomorrow.

A source at Radio 1 said: "It's all about winning back an audience that has now fallen to 10million. Bosses want to shake up the prime slots big time."

Ironically its main rival is Radio 2, whose 13million listeners tune in to many of One's former stars culled in 1993.

Good, they can get rid of Jo Whiley and Replace with Vernon Kay, Scott can replace Mark n lard and colin and edith can replace Dave Pearce. Maybe thats why Colin and Edith have made an advert to promot them before they get a regular weekday show.

I thought it'd be more likely Zane Lowe replaces Dave Pearce, Vernon Jo Whiley, then either Colin and Edith or Mills can do Mark n Lards slots then the other take over from Cox when she goes on leave.

I listened to Scott both yesterday and today. I definitely agree with you on today's show being better. The Alan Partridge feature was just as hilarious today. I do hope that he ditches the music choice and indian/chinese takeaway game very soon as i'm not liking either of these features all that much....

I find these rumours hard to believe, but at least now Chris is safe. I thought he would be sacked in September before he got breakfast.

And if you live at the other side of the country and get it right, its highly unlikely a the resteraunts going to deliver it.

i got the feeling (wasnt actually listening properly) that Radio One would just phone up your local chineese restraunt and pay using their credit card... rather than actually ordering from the restraunt they were using... but maybe I am wrong.

Those kind of songs get played during the day. From 6 onwards they could be making it the specialist shows. You presume he will have to play those kind of songs, if it's a shake up to get listeners back they may not be keeping it the same and allow Zane to play whatever he normally does on his show.

Suppose we just have to wait and see if any of these changes actually happen.

Surprisingly he still gets pretty good figures, even from younger listeners. It would take a brave controller to sack him. He has been at R1 since it started.
