The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

She had a feature yesterday about convincing maladies you can use as an excuse for pulling a sickie off work. I forgot to listen - anyone catch it? (Excuse the pun)

I want to use one of them sometime. I really don't want to have to go to my lectures this friday. I know, im naughty. :p

If you don't want to go to your lectures just don't turn up. Why do you need an excuse?

One of them is a compulsory revision class. Yes, i know it sounds dumb that i want to skip it because it should do me good but i find them a complete waste of 2 hours when all people do is wander off topic and annoy me. I have to email my tutor with a good excuse.

I mean, it's not like they can do anything drastic if i just don't turn up without a reason, it's just that i like to avoid confrontation if at all possible and when i do turn up the next week it's bound to come up if i didn't give an explanation. I'm a peace loving person and i can tell all sorts of fibs just to avoid making people angry. :-p I have found over the years that it's best just to make something up instead of letting people assume you are bolshy and rebellious. It papers over the cracks nicely and my tutor hates me as it is so i don't even want to risk bothering him by not sending apologies. It's just too much trouble and making up an excuse always seems so much easier.

I use the excuse I have to go to revision classes so i can skip lessons. Never had a problem of skipping revison lessons as they don't exist to me though...

Email your tutor and just say you would rather revise at home instead of being put off by the people that wonder and go off topic.

Best to be honest to your tutor than make up some excuse that 'could' for example go wrong.

I had to laugh at the start of Jo Whileys show today with Jo saying basically how better her team was than Leeds and Chris pointing out that he could quite easily take her off air :P

Chris said he could take her off the air when he HAD took her off the air though, during her show...I'm not even going to bother explaing it even more. When i read Davids post i understood he had taken Jo off the air so to me your reponse was stating the obvious/ repeating Davids point.

Im getting too old for this...

*chuckles* I missed that bit with Jo - i am always interrupted when im listening so i miss huge chunks of the show.

The revision class is compulsory so they can say they have put some effort into helping us but it's clear that neither the students or the tutor wants to be there. It's not a subject any of us find particularly difficult and judging on my past performance in this area i'm sure i don't need to sit there and listen to a repeat of everything i've heard before.

Adam - I don't think you're boring, I think you actually have a point. I used to be upfront with them about my reasons for picking and choosing which tutorials and classes i thought were useful and some of them were cool about it. There is always one though - always one little bugger who has to kick up a fuss and complain about my "attitude". I'm in the third year of university and time is precious as i come up my finals. If i don't want to waste time in a class that is of no use when i could be doing something better then they think that means i am rebellious. In fact i'm pretty hard working and i do actually care a great deal about my exams - more so than most students here! It's just this one guy has got it in for me and hates having his authority challenged......meh...I should stop moaning i suppose. At least some of them understand! :p

The Muse- At the end of the day - its up to you if you want to attend. I don't think you are going to really get into that much trouble. Ask yourself if you really need to go? If there are things you are unsure off, the I suggest you go to the lectures.

Please don't write a large post like that again.

Excuse me Adam?

I have to limit how long my posts are now?

Is that because the board doesn't have much space or is that just because you assume that if something doesn't interest you personally it shouldn't be given any space on your precious board?

You guys really make new members feel welcome around here huh? Everyone - is this just Adam being a dork or is there some kind of protocol about what we can and can't talk about around here that i am not aware of.

You know what, i will make my posts as big as i bloody well like you tosser.

I can't see anything that says 'Admin', 'Mod' or 'Owner' by his name so what's the deal.

He seems like a major league prick to me. I hope nobody else at this board is as rude as he is because if so i'm gonna leave this place for dead and carry on at my other place. :o

Oh sure. I'll just keep my mouth shut then for his personal convienience.

The boards that i'm used to move twice as fast as this and have much longer posts. Maybe that's why i am so confused as to why he thinks it's long but well, if you are all lazy and uninterested in anything other than yourselves then i can understand. (j/k)
