Just how good is it "having your own TV channel"?

I got it in December.

Its like everything with SKY, its really good until it goes wrong! a mate of mine bought it around the same time as me and his box has just packed up and hes lost everything he had saved. I've heard people have set things up to tape and its recorded other things instead

Saying that, I've not had any problems with it apart from exiting back to live tv after pausing its hung a couple of times, nothing major.

My Sky package is already something like £25 a month...

If you have either movies or sport or both it's free for your 1st year, then £10 a month thereafter.

Plus, if you order it online installation is something silly like £1.

i think i paid £200 for the box and got free installation because i kept my original subscription and had my standard digibox re-located in my house.

i didnt know it was free for a year, i thought you started paying the extra £10 straight away??

How much a month is the extra box elsewhere in the house. 10 or 15?

yes it is cheaper if u have all of the premium packages (sport, music channels, movies and documentaries)

ive already got normal sky digital, so will it be cheaper for installation (or will it be free?) i was thinking about gettin sky+, i know a few people who got it and they aint had many problems so i might have to invest.

I would buy it if it was £100, but they should produce a higher capacity one. Tapes will do for now.

It's basically the same as Sky+ (a hard disc recorder), but with less features and less integrated with Sky. I think Sky+ is based on TIVO.

Its been around for longer and is very popular with lardy arse Americans who watch TV all day.
