I'm sure all the trendies from Emmerdale get themselves across to Harrogate for a cut and blow dry. Its probably only about 5 miles away, and there's a regular bus service! Or they go to Leeds, or in times of desparation, they go to Hotten (the town actually known as Otley).

Happy posting, one and all! By the way, I am actually a farmers son, from Yorkshire, and Emmerdale used to be filmed less than 2 miles from where I live. So there.

You say that like it's something to be proud of.

It's something I've being trying to escape for a good ten years of my life. All this talk of Emmerdale tho makes me all kind of reminiscent...

Frankly the Emmerdale, farmer and Yorkshire parts are all things I would not be proud of.

OK then, I will have to concede that the Emmerdale thing is nothing to be proud of, but stay well away from the issue of whether or not being Yorkshire is a good thing. True, we may well be crap at football (well, Division 2 or higher), and some places may well be on the dubious side (I'm looking at you, Barnsley), but just remember, it is the home of Chris Moyles (the official saviour of R1), me (the official saviour of bugger all), and Dame Judi Dench (who is, quite frankly, lovely).

So then, the rest of you, whats so good about your counties?

M - Oh do pay attention 007.

I live in Surrey - less chance of your car or house being broken into. Erm, I dunno really. I live near London. People are friendly round here.

Topher - whats so good about MK, eh? Apart from the Roundabouts and Cows.. Moo

Because I'm feeling argumentative at the moment, I have to pull you up on this:

Go and pick on Mcqueen if you want argument. I'll put my money on him winning it. He always bloody does... 8)

Oh, I forgot in my recent meanderings, I've actually been in Emmerdale. Yes, it's true. I played Joseph in the 1992 Christmas nativity play. I was 7 at the time. I got lines and a script and everything. Rock and roll lifestyle, I know.

Where (and indeed why) have you got pictures of that?

Why would you have pictures of children in an Emerdale nativity play?
