Monday 7th June
Mark Radcliffe
10.30pm-12.00midnight BBC RADIO 2
Mark Radcliffe makes his full-time Radio 2 debut presenting a new, weekly show live from Manchester. Airing four nights a week, it kicks off tonight with an exclusive session with Badly Drawn Boy, followed by a live session with Supergrass tomorrow.
Mark, who has previously presented a number of series and documentaries for Radio 2 says: "It's going to be a late-night radio revolution: we're going to play records and talk in between and I don't think anyone has ever tried that before."
The programme includes a mix of live sessions with celebrity guests, listener contributions and regular updates on the worlds of poetry, fashion, journalism and rock "n" roll from a team of experts.
Of his contributors, Mark says: "We've got John Cooper Clarke, the original punk poet from Manchester; Noddy Holder, from Slade; Wayne Hemingway, the designer from Red Or Dead; Dave Spikey from Phoenix Nights; and Jim White, the sports writer for the Telegraph, who's going to report from Euro 2004. So I won't be lonely."
Presenter/Mark Radcliffe, Producer/Ian Callaghan
Should be quality entertainment; there's also an interview with him on page seven of this PDF file. - jc
