I usually love Scott Mills on early drivetime but when i realised dave pearce wasnt there and scott was filling in i was really annoyed. Having to put up with the same style for 5 hours isnt fair!

I think he said at the start of his show he was on till 8.

It wasn't really the same style show either, he just read out requests and texts then had a 30min mix with hardly any talking - which is what Dave does anyway.

i think dave pearce has been much better since they announced his weekday show would be axed - he plays more mainstream material like mills and moyles

Mills is by far the best DJ on the air apart from Chris (although I know lots think he is the best)

i listen online when im at my comp usually, idid toady and i thought there was a problem with listen online... i thought for some reason it was playing this afternoons show, then i realised it was mills....

i didnt mind mills doing dave's show, was i a nice change, couldnt take 2 days of it though....

Mills is good, he is second to Moyles and Radio One know it!
Scott has really improved recently and Radio One are giving him a lot of attention at the mount.
Filling all those gaps from the subs bench really paid off!

Wes was good last night... and yes the mix was pre-recorded, probably made on a computer with beat matching. Wes admitted it wasnt him doing it, Mills admitted it wasnt him doing it the night before. It probably isnt even Dave doing it...

I remember when Moyles filled in for Dave once, he said it was the easiest gig ever because he got to sit back for half an hour and do nothing while they played out the mix selector.

Dave only says a few phrases, most of them start with "so then..."
the rest include huge, massive and anthem.
In between that he just does "big shout-outs" to odd people on the text with strange names.
I think the Radio One line-up is great from 7am right up until 6pm then it gets a little bit dodgy but I know change is on the horizon!
Otherwise BBC local radio in the South-West is great on an evening, check out the Richard Lewis show between 7-10 it very different and refreshing to most of the output which you would expect to find on BBC local.
Plus you might get a really nice guy called Steve (Higgypop) answering the phone if you call in.

Back on topic...

... I don't think I like Scott Mills. I mean, I don't think I dislike him, but he doesn't really have much different going on in all his shows. They're all pretty much the same. I think the reason I love Moyles is that everything's unpredictable (I realise that it's probably scripted and meant to sound like that, but hey, it works!). I especially like half-time!!!
Whereas Scott just gets callers on to say something which he half-heartedly agrees with, until 5, then rings people up and says exactly the same thing to all of them when they 'request' a song.

I agree that Scott's show is more or less the same every day, but so is Chris's to a certain extent. Anyway, that doesn't matter. I think Scott is consistantly funny, and if you've got a winning formula then why change it?

exactly. i don't see much difference between either djs, to be honest. that said, i've always enjoyed scott a bit more. i mean, if it weren't for him, i'd never listen to radio1.
