The place where everyone hangs out, chats, gossips, and argues

Yep, but a very slightly different angle. What I'm edging at is the fact that when you have a p*ss, you don't expect people to be watching you. When you come on to a messageboard declaring that you are Chris Moyles, you expect an audience. And why the whole event should be kept an amazing secret defies logic to me. At the end of the day, if someone were kind enough to forward the transcript, I'd read it, then what would I do? Well, nothing! So what's the whole issue?! I don't understand that one at all. I've already explained my personal reasoning, and I can't work out why anyone would WANT to make it publically viewable anyway!

Well, my point WOULD have been, you make a judement when you take that pee at how comfy you are doing it in public. I'm speaking for myself here, but if I had decided to take that pee "in public" doesn't mean I'm comfortable enough for everyone who makes up the public to watch me. If I was in front of a 60,000 seater stadium I probably would have decided it better not to pee in public. My point being - just cause it was a public chat doesn't mean everyone's entitled to see it. You would have made a judgement of who was there before revealing who I/them/anyone was. Please honour that and don't hunt the transcript down :)

No I don't. I even said I don't. But nor does anybody else! And that's the really weird bit about this whole thing!

And the reason I say they don't have a right is this: nobody can instruct someone to prevent the circulation of a public chat transcript, even if they were involved. If it was Aled, then people could be mesmorised into thinking he has the authority to instruct such a thing because he is involved in the show. In terms of this board though, he is simply a member. The simple fact is that no-one has the authority to make such instructions, regardless of who they are! And I think some people may feel they have a duty to keep it a secret when the fact of the matter is they can deal with it how they like.

b) What makes you think you have any right to read it?

I don't. I'm challenging the whole reasoning behind this argument that it can't be passed on to anyone who'd be interested in reading it!

For a website that trawled the newsgroups of years ago and posted Moyles' posts on this website (without his permission or knowledge may I point out, especially considering the arguments that have been made in this thread about the webchat!), I think the arguments you are making are by and large ridiculous!

I don't suppose it takes a brain surgeon to work out that I was the one who asked that the post got taken off. I feel however, that you're jumping to conclusions in assuming that I feel I have any authority over this site or the chats. I didn't tell anyone to do anything, why naturally assume that? I asked for a favour and people have been kind enough to help me out. I'm hoping it's because of my work with this site and being given some respect from the board members for being a link between them and the show that they're fans of.

It's not about duty, it's about respect, I, and I'm sure the show, appreciate it - and will continue to work closely with the website and it's members. Or at least, those that are true Chris Moyles fans.

Now changing the flow of conversation slightly. If we managed to get one of the radio 1 team to come on the online chat at a particular day/time would many of you try to attend? Obviously we wouldn't want another two hour interrigation of who they are, like we had with Chris.

This is a MUCH more constructive way forward, and something I can work on. Let's see what we can do.

I certainly didn't mean it to come across like that. What I was suggesting was that because you are Aled, people may automatically see you as an authority because of, well, being Aled!

I didn't tell anyone to do anything, why naturally assume that? I asked for a favour and people have been kind enough to help me out. I'm hoping it's because of my work with this site and being given some respect from the board members for being a link between them and the show that they're fans of.

And that's certainly fair enough. I think it's probably my phaseology rather than making an assumption, and I completely see what you're saying.

I would like to say that I don't think it's an outrageous situation of some kind! I completely understand what people are saying, and I hope people on that side of the fence can see some good points that I am making as well.

The thing is that the transcript was removed without any explanation, which then lead to this whole "I've got the transcript, you can't have it but I don't know why" thing and I don't really like that. At the end of the day (and this is only personally speaking), I would read it and do nothing with it! That's what frustrates me, because I see no major reason why the chat should be made with certain members of the forum but made a no go for anybody else who is curious (which surely isn't THAT many people?!).

As I said earlier, for a website that includes posts that Chris made years back and without the assumption that they'd be trawled up and put on public view, I find it very strange that a chat would then be locked up - especially if it is so "boring".

But anyway. P*ssing in public.

I suppose it depends on how drunk you get... although I have never and have no intention of doing this.

Depends if its either that, or peeing yourself really..

and the last thing you want to do when 'on the pull' is pee yourself... unless your in to those sort of people who like 'watersports'. I'm beginning to think the topic of the chatlog was better...

There's a really embarassing story about me pissing in public, but I don't feel I should go into that.

My brother once shat himself when he was extremely drunk. His girlfriend wasn't too impressed.

Hmm, back to the chat log maybe? Lol...

Actually, it wasn't that embarassing, and not even that interesting. Just that I decided to take a pee down an alley after having a few beers one night, and somebody caught me in the act.

Talking of embarassing things, it was my stag do this saturday just gone and I was made to spend the whole day wearing a pair of huge white Y-fronts on the outside of my trousers - my day consisted of paintablling, a meal and numerous bars etc - as you can imagine I was fairly embarassed BUT I think I actually got off very lightly knowing my friends as that was the one and only stunt they pulled on me. I had my stag do two weeks before the wedding purely incase they got up to something worse than mentioned - I needen't have bothered ;-)

Ok, here's the deal. You may just have heard about the web board from the mention on the show, you might be a regular here but either way when you come into the IRC chat dun do that stupid 30 second loiter and then leave expecting us to break out in a chorus of words just because you've been considerate enough to join the channel. Sometimes it is, like everything, a little quiet in there, and other times it's a hive of activity (I jest not)...

But I'm sick of people like DAN, yes you know who you are if you're reading this, coming in, saying hi, asking a comment about the show, then 30 seconds layter leaving just as I'd finished my reply. If I were a slow typer I could understand it... but sheeesh...

PATIENCE I all I'm saying ok...?

Ok, that's it. Rant over... *hands the mic to McQueen*

Thanks McQueen. (What else can I say to that?)

Anyways, to shuffle in a more, somewhat on-topic motion...

Where is everyone in the chat tonight? I've reconnected after dragging my ass back from my last day of work this week and there's no bugger there... We changed servers again and someone forgot to let the rest of us know?
