The Streets's album is the best album released in 2004 thus far. It's fantastic.

Somebody please try and argue this point with me so I can prove you wrong.

Nah, their original album was much better. This is just like listening to a broken record this time round...

I'm 50-50 on Streets. I can listen to their music and enjoy it a bit yet I wouldn't choose it over much and don't want to like it. Skinner is far from a genius, whoever praises him as one should be shot.

id be fine with it if people just got on listening enjoying his stuff, but its when people start telling me hes a genius - i mean what the *? hes no genius, hes just a clever guy who saw a market for the music and makes * of cash from it

Tell me one recent new British artist who has written lyrics that people can relate to like Mike Skinner's, that's the point! And nearly every corner of the music world wouldn't be raving about The Streets so much if this wasn't the case. So any artists you'd like to put forward, what musical talent is this country really producing. The biggest joke was Ms. Dynami-te-he winning the Mercury Music Prize ahead of Original Pirate Material, that was criminal.

That above was my weak attempt to argue against them, though really I think the new album is better than the old one, though it took some time for some of the tracks to grow on me.

Marie, on of the drivers at work, was playing it in her unit a few months ago when it first came out and she said it was really good from start to finish. Then I listened to it and though that maybe she'd got a little too excited about it. Though having heard it all the way through many times now it really grew on me and even the bits I wasn't too fussed on to start with I think are really very good - if only for the way it tells the story...

Or is it just him going on holiday etc...

You idiot. I wouldn't of minded if you'd just said they were not your cup of tea, but it is is genius. Modern, poetic, cool and emotional. Those four words alone make it genius.

How old are you Bridgie? You argue like you're 14.

Yeah, but will probably be replaced with Busted's Thunderbirds Are Go or something, and there has definately been some absolute trash getting to number 1 within the history of the charts (like the Spice Girls post-Geri for instance, and Steps' bad Abba and Beegees covers, or more recently eamon and frankee). The point is, being Number 1 doesn't always mean it's quality.
