They deliberately pick playlist songs to keep the "people upstairs" happy.

People will request them though. Alot of people do actually listen to Radio1 for the music believe it or not, so them people will request the songs they like to normally hear.

i suppose, dave pearce did that before, but that was because the first 10 minutes of his show was requests so he had to have some way of getting them in

I noticed last time, most of the stuff from Scott's segment was recent, where as Edith seemed to pick more of peoples choices from the past

But then it would be much harder to listen to Moyles, Jo would have a messy Newsbeat in the middle, and also Zane would presumably have to do an extra hour. Mills has technically been promoted to 4 in terms of audience size.

As for Show - you can be either visible or evident, so radio show makes sense. Fascinating.

The reason Scott interupts the news, is mainly to remind listeners that he finishes the show at 7, and not 6 now. By having him during the news, its another way for the BBC to get accross that his show isn't over yet, in the hope people don't turn off/over by thinking it is.

Also, I'm guessing Scott will do 5 hours of the takeover, with JK & Joel doing the other 5?
