That's about the only rap song anyone knows from 1979 so it probably was. I wonder if Colin could keep quiet for the whole 7 minutes?

I don't see how they could do five decades of rap, I am not aware of many 60s rap tracks...

It was probably at the genesis of rap music, when the whole hip-hop (yes they are slightly different, rap is part of hip-hop though) genre was just getting started, or was still very underground, which is why you don't hear much 1970s rap, it was the 80's and 90's where it really came into it's own. Run DMC anyone?

Ive got the original 14 minute version of Rappers Delight on one of my Sugarhill Gang cds, its a true classic.
