I heard Ickle got her Tenacious D. I had less success, though I think the playing of Smelly Cat by Phoebe Buffay made my day, seriously. Sad but true.

Lying gits, Mills, JK n Joel...

On a slightly different note, they played Carpark Catchphrase, so why not Fat DJ. probably too obscure for them, even though it was played on Radio 1 at least once.

Bloody hell! They probably got loads of requests you can't expect them to get through everyones and most likely they would play the ones with more requests. They can't satisfy everyone.

They said at least 5 times (that I heard, probably more) throughout the day "we're running out of things to play" This was obviously not true, or they would have been able to phone people back who they said they were going to and go search for the obscurer (is that a word) tracks... Would have been funny if they had just run out of stuff to play, even if it meant we would've had to suffer more of Mills, JK and Joel...

Ya think ...

They probably got enough requests within the first few hours to last the whole Ten Hours. Thousands of requests won't have got played. Even the so called 'obscure' stuff, David Brent and Phobes smelly cat were getting hundreds of requests.

Of course they were never going to run out of stuff to play. By saying that it would make people think that if they text in they would have more chance of it getting played. At the end of the day all of the BBC's text driven features/competitions or anything with text are designed to get as many people to text in as possible. Because the more texts there are, the more £££ the Beeb makes.

I think that's incorrect. I always got the impression the BBC didn't profit text messages they received.

The BBC have always said they can't by rules of the license fee or something make any money on texts.

Plus, it only costs us 10p a text, so I can't see how they'd gain much from that.

I don't think it is possible to charge more than your standard to receive a text unless they send one back automatically - Radio 1 don't.

It makes them look impressive in the media magazines / charter renewals , though.

nah, they really were, if you check the site, theres this BBC guy in the music library.

Yeah exactly, don't think the sound of him in the library would spill out on air. He'd obviously already passed the Cds to Scott, Scott really wasn't sat 'russling' through ALL the cds in front of the mic was he.

The 10p is just your standard charge from your operator, so, unless the beeb have agreed summat with the mobile operators, they wont get nowt. I enjoyed the takeover and hope they will do it again----Dickie????

This is back for a third outing on Monday 3rd Jan.

Chappers and Dave are doing it from 10am - 1pm, JK & Joel 1 - 4pm, and Wes from 4 - 8pm. I think that works better than Scott Mills all day!

Someone called Miquita will be doing the breakfast show on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd January, never heard of her! Is Scott Mills having an extended new year holiday?
