Outta shear co-incidence I caught Chappers an' Dave on Saturday morning and was looking forwards to the Sunday show but uhhh, due to other things on my mind I kinda never got the chance to listen. Can anyone enlighten me, just outta curiosity wheather the duo made it to the England/Wales match or not...

As fer the Spoony debate... I think he's ok to listen to at that time of the morning when you're not quite awake, but you ain't quite asleep either... Ya know what I mean?

So they've got Spoony standing in for Mills so Mills can stand in for Moyles... that makes exactly NO sense to me. A guy filling in for someone whos away coz hes filling in for someone? why not just hand the show to the Chuckle Brothers or bloody Wes, and save the number of people needed to fill in?

Anyone who thinks we're contributing to the dumbing-down of internet forums can shove their stupid opinion up their a$$

No but come on, Scott is clearly the most established presenter after Chris in that timeslot (as he's been depping on breakfast for years) - and if the schedule has to be changed about a bit then so be it.

You need someone there who you can trust to keep hold of the majority of your main audience - but introducing unfamiliar DJ's like JK and Joel, or sh*t ones like Spoony won't do that. I wouldn't say I'm the biggest fan of Scott Mills but I think it makes a nice change to have a different kind of show on the air for a couple of weeks... plus him and Chappers are brilliant together.

I can understand, JK and Joel in the early morning is bad enough! They're best off at weekends when I won't be tempted to listen to them! I still find myself setting the alarm for 6.55 every morning even though I'm not massively fond of Scott, it's just a force of habit I suppose!

i've just tuned in to radio 1 and it sounds like chappers and dave are covering for vernon

EDIT: false alarm - sounds like its just Chappers - what is the world coming to? What next? Dom filling in for Colin & Edith when they go on holiday?

yeah definately - but picking a sportsreader to stand in isnt the best choice in the world - surely colin & edith or nemone would have been better - it now means chappers has done 13 days consecutive work for radio 1

Hardly the same having Dom standing in for someone is it. Chappers is more like a Comedy Dave than a Dom if we are comparing. I wouldn't class him as just a 'sports reader'.

Chappers has presented radio and Tv before so having him to stand in for someone isn't too shocking

He had a holiday not long back. He was also with the Man U team the other day aswell, broadcasting from Prague. I think the hours he works is more important than the number of days in a row.
