Would it be in too bad taste to play those clips of John Peel playing Chris's music beds? I don't think it would be, but some people might see it as making fun of him, but IMO it was in good humour between them both.

If not, I'm sure he'll have something good to say, they always seem to get on well when he popped in.

Didn't they have a few bad words when Chris first joined? But yeah, they seemed to get on well together after that. Those clips were great, definately shouldn't be taken the wrong way if played.

Yeah, John used to hate Moyles. He famously said that Moyles was "A DLT in waiting" (and Moyles responded with a quote which I won't repeat under the circumstances). He also said "you make my life f***ing miserable" after Chris split water in the studio, but fortunately they kissed and made up in a pub one night.

Maybe Chris will tone things down tomorrow.

They seemed to be getting along well in the afternoon slot, maybe not friends, but Moyles certainly had respect for him.

I don't think he'll tone down too much but he'll certainly have a few positive words to say about John and the tedious link and buzz off will probably be a song to do with John.

I thought both yesterday and todays shows were absolutely fantastic. Moyles at his best.

As regards the John Peel thing, I'm not sure what he'll do tomorrow. Him and Rachel will probably have had words with Parfitt about it, as it's quite a difficult situation to be in. If he does the normal show people will be offended and call him insensitive (particularly if he repeats the Peel clips) - and if he doesn't and just plays records people will moan that the best way to pay tribute would have been to carry on as normal.

Hopefully he'll get the balance right.

Yeah, I agree on everything there MC. The shows up and till the listening figures going up were crap in my opinion but after Thursday, the show has been brilliant.

It certainly won't be easy for Chris tomorrow, especially as it's a Radio 1 colleauge on top of everything else, but I'm sure he'll handle it in the correct way, by paying his respects to John but yet still keeping the show as normal as possible.

Anyway, with regards to the shows, they have been great so far this week, didn't hear all of today's show and haven't had time to listen again yet, but yesterday's was great, Richard and Judy were fantastic guests!

Unfortunately though, according to Heat magazine, it looks like he's gonna be doing the show from Leeds again next Friday, doesn't say why though!

Great show today! Well done Chris!

I liked the way he paid tribute to John, but at the same time, the show still had many comedy moments as usual. But he said some really nice things, we know he can be genuine on the air if he really needs to be, and wants to be, in this case.

That aside, Dave doing Maths is always funny, that link dragged on a bit, but still good! Haven't heard all of it yet, still listening again!

I think Chris will have a lot to say about Moldy Lookin' Stain reaching number one in the download chart too, and it will possibly be the main focus of tomorrows show.

Scott Mills mentioned Peel very briefly at the start of the show, but that was it. I have to agree he was quite insensitive, seemingly bothering more about his man flu than the fact that a legend has died. But then again I didn't expect Scott to be very good at being solemn, so it didn't really surprise me.

To be fair they do have to sort of tone it down a bit and try and seamlessly revert back to normal. He didn't do his celebrity call I noticed, didn't hear anything prior to that though.

Yeah, I do vaguely remember listening that day but the 9/11 link in the sound vault appears to be bust (or is that just not working for me again?)

I noticed Chris dropped Car Park Catchphrase, Lets Get Ready To Ramble, daft half time music, American voice-overs, even the jingles, etc.

But, then again, what exactly does Mills do on his show? Oh yeah, he eats curry normally...
