Hi guys. I have visited this site many times over the past couple of years (great site btw) but just yesterday i realized you had a forum. Didnt expect to see so many posts. anyway just a bit about me. well actually all u need to know is that i have been listening to moyles since may 2000. Dont really listen that much to the breakie show.
Just want to know what other radio one listeners views are. I think the moyles show was alot better when it was in the afternoon 4-6/3-6 slot. Specifically between 2000 -2002, 2001 being my fav year. Infact generally i think the world was a better place in the early noughties, and the middish (2002/3 on are lame). Back in the day, it wasnt so PC, and the crew could have much more fun without having to worry about getting sacked cus some people felt insulted. The old skits like the burt kwok skits were cool, will kinder was hilarous (how they always use to make fun of him, like that old radio show he did). The music was alot better. Back then, there wasnt so many of these depressing indie/rock groups. there was travis, coldplay and sterophonics. This is ok, but now they (R1) insist on putting every one of these bands on the playlist. I want to listen to the radio to chill out and relax, not to commit suicide as the constant play on monotonous skinnies and their dreary interviews destroys my brain. i think i can give you more the 30 off these bands that have "The" in their names that R1 put on the playlist.
what does everyone think? I dont want to insult anyone. i know that 99.9% of you guys are probably indie/rock fans so you wont agree with my last point. We just need a bit of an equal playing field here on the playlist and restore sanity.
edit: oh yeah, a few more things. the parodies were alot better like stanta. Remember when they had john colshaw on fridays. It was funny seeing him get irritated when they called him colshark. And there is never anymore of these celebrity slanging macthes. like when moyles dissed that models single because it sounded like she was farting (forgot the name of the model
