Craig what music do you play at your disco?

surely its sixties and seventies disco era crap?

the flares in portsmouth is total tripe. it is too small and full of older people because of the music. in most places flares is novelty but in portsmouth most of the clubs play old crappy music.

I dont understand how the Keane album is still in the top 10. Its alrite, but surely everyone in the country must own a copy of it now!

Slighty dissapointed REM didnt even get in the top 30 with their new single, maybe if Radio1 played it atleast once, things may have been different.

I was wondering that with other albums like the Killers (until last week) and Scissor Sisters as well. Whoever wants a copy must own one, they'll have new albums out before long

Radio 1 hasn't played REM since Mayo left. It's a shame because they are consistently good. I don't understand why they still champion U2, but don't give REM the time of day.

They're overrated IMO. Their tunes are good, but I wouldn't put a single U2 song in the top 1000 songs of all time.

rem - i bought their 2001 album and its so dull even radio 2 probably wouldnt play it. their music is too dull now and radio 1 never play old music so thats why youll not hear rem classics - well apart from tedious link.

I wouldn't put them in my top 10 best ever songs but saying they wouldn't be in your top 1000 is just being silly. they're not great but they still write a decent tune now and then.

they have some great songs but they do get overplayed. not just on radio1 but a lot of commercial stations especially the ones that say "the best of the eighties, nineties and now" and i get bored of hearing their songs. that dont mean i dont think they dont write good songs. i also like REM but their older stuff is best. i got the album Reveal (i think thats the one bob is on about) and it is a rather boring record. you kind of cant tell where one track ends and the next begins.

Everybody Hurts. Proberly the best song ever.
Dont like Vertigo. with or without it a decent song tho.

If you want a decent record but "automatic for the people" by REM. Such an awesome album.

Yeah, there's not a bad track on AFTP.

I used to like With or Without You, but when you hear it quite a few times you go off it dramatically. Same sort of thing as Bohemian Rhapsody and Angels.
